This is the shortest tour for people in a hurry but don’t want to miss the opportunity to visit the desert of Morocco, Go on a camel trek in the sand dunes of Zagora and spend a night under the stars in a traditional desert camp. This 2 days tour from Marrakech to Zagoura will allow you see the high Atlas Mountains and the fortified Kasbahs of Ait Benhaddou, you will adore the beautiful Draa valley. It is a very rich tour and a condensed experience, a lot to see, to admire, and to appreciate.
Short, rich, condensed experience, you will see the most of the Moroccan desert and enjoy the golden dunes, the sunrise, the sunset and everything the Sahara has to offer in just 2 days. This brief adventure will certainly fill your soul.

Schedule of the tour:

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Golden dunes of Zagoura (Nekhla).

Our 2 days tour departs around 7 A.M in front of your Marrakech accommodation and head straight to the stunning dunes of Zagoura traversing through the Tizi-n’Tichka pass (2260m), on the road; you will get to see the fortified Kasbahs of Ait Benhaddou, the protege of the UNESCO and the birthplace of many Hollywood movies. Afterwards, you will head to Ouarzazate for lunch next to the famous Kasbah of Taourirt that presents the historical and cultural heritage of Ouarzazate. After lunch, we will progress to the south and cross the second pass, which is Tizi N’Tnifift at 1710m. Following to Ait Saoun village; the former route of caravans for Sahara traders coming from “Tombouktou”, where the first administrative center called “Agdez Village” marks the source of Draa Valley, with its six successive palm groves stating (Mezguita palmary, Fezouata…) and Kasbahs stating the famous Tamnougalt Kasbah. The journey continues through the lunar landscapes and the Pre-Sahara routes until you get to Zagoura; the native region of Saadian dynasty (Saadian tombs in Marrakech) ruler family of Morocco in the XVII century. Once in Zagoura, you will enjoy watching the beautiful sunset and get to an Oasis camp called Nekhla. A camel ride will come in handy to navigate through the sand and there, you will enjoy a dinner and spend the night in the tents.

Day 2 : Zagora Dunes – Agdez – High Atlas & Tichka – Marrakech.

Typical desert breakfast just after witnessing the majestic sunrise of the mighty sahara’s sun, a view even the laziest person wouldn’t like to miss. After that, you will ride the camels back to meet your driver who will drive you back to the city of Ouarzazate where you will have time to take lunch and relax for a bit before hitting the road again to Marrakech and end an unforgettable journey full of heartwarming memories by dropping you off in your Marrakech accommodation.
