Marrakech to Fes via Merzouga desert in 3 days


This 3 days tour from Marrakech to Fes via Merzouga Sahara desert will take you through one of the most exciting itineraries in Morocco. A 3 days tour that combines the two imperial cities and Sahara desert. It gives you the opportunity to explore both cities and everything in-between, including Erg chebbi desert.  During this trip, you will see a variety of landscapes. Starting at the giant rock formations of High Atlas Mountains. You will also explore the fortified kasbahs of At Benhaddou, UNESCO world Heritage site. Visit the city of Ouarzazate ‘’The Hollywood of Africa’’its Studio atlas and Kasbah of Tourirt. You will get to see the narrow gorges of dades. Admire the sunset and sunrise over the golden dunes of Erg chebbi Sahara desert and experience camel ride and overnight in authentic Berber camp or under the stars in the middle of the desert. Discover the cedar forest of Azrou and snap photos with little monkeys before you finally arrive in Fes.


Day 1 : Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades

Pick up from your accommodation at 08:00 AM and head to Dades via Tizi N’ Tichka pass in the High Atlas Mountains, renowned for its scenic views and breathtaking stops. You will discover the authentic life of Berber dwellers. Our tour continues until we reach ksar Ait ben haddou; a striking example of southern Moroccan architecture and UNESCO World Heritage site. After exploring the giant Kasbahs, we will continue our way to Ouarzazate, we will be visiting Atlas Studios and Taourirt Kasbah. Afterwards, we drive through rose valley to Dades, where we will spend the night.

Day 2 : Dades Gorge – Todra Gorge – Erfoud -Risani – Erg chebbi dunes in Merzouga

After breakfast, we depart taking this exotic itinerary from Dades Gorge to Erg chebbi Sahara desert in Merzouga. We will drive through several Berber villages and towns along the way; Tenhir, Tinjdad, Jorf, Erfoud and Risani. When we arrive in Erfoud, you will notice the beginning of Saharan. The atmosphere becomes windy, sandy and yellow the more we drive deep into the Sahara. When we reach Merzouga, a short off-road drive over the mesmerizing golden dunes of desert will get you to the camels. Enjoy an exciting ride and watch the majestic sunset on the way to your Authentic Berber camp. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed, and shown your well-equipped and luxurious camp. Enjoy a typical saharan dinner, then a musical party played by the staff around the fire.

Day 3 : Merzouga – Erfoud – Errachidia – Midelt – Azrou Cedar Forest ( monkeys) – Fes

Early wake-up is a must for those who Don’t want to miss the magnificent sunrise over the golden dunes of Erg chebbi. Enjoy breakfast in your camp, then a goodbye glance to the place before getting in in your 4*4 vehicle. We drive toward Fez via the High Atlas Mountains. We will be driving through Erfoud, Rissani, Errachidia, Midelt and Azrou. Once in Azrou, you will enjoy the views of cedar forest with little monkeys jumping on the hood for some food. Call it a day by dropping you off at your accommodation in Fez.
